Can you combine soul shards

Soul Shards are now created by placing a block of glowstone, then placing a block of netherrack on the 4 sides of the glowstone, then placing a block of endstone on each side of the netherrack, afterwards you right click the glowstone block with a diamond to get 1 soul shard. In addition, all the blocks in the structure become endstone, requiring you to re-make the structure to make another soul shard. This does make endstone farmable in the overworld at the cost of the component resources.

There are currently two methods to gather these souls: Hunting the mobs or destroying a vanilla spawner to absorb the souls within:. In order to charge your Soul Shard through this method, you must place the Soul Shard on your hotbar. Next, find the mob in which you want to "tie" the shard to and kill it. Your Soul Shard will now be linked to that mob type and will only gain charges by killing that mob.

For example, if you want an Enderman Soul Shard, your next kill after placing the Soul Shard on your hotbar has to be an Enderman. Souls of mobs that have been added through a mod cannot be captured. However, mobs spawned from vanilla mob spawners will charge the Soul Shard, so it may be wise to build a grinder. Slimes souls are particularly easy to farm. Smaller slimes that spawn when killing bigger slimes provide souls, even if the big slime was spawned by a Soul Cage.

You can also add the Soul Stealer enchantment to a sword, which increases the number of soul charges gained per mob kill by one for each level of the enchantment. For example with a Soul Stealer level 2 enchantment you will get three soul charges for each mob killed instead of one. The highest level of Soul Stealer available via enchanting is 4, however by combining weapons or a book you can get level 5. Soul Stealer 5 results in 6 souls per kill.

Right-clicking on a vanilla mob spawner with a Soul Shard in your hand will destroy the spawner and add souls to the shard. Note that the shard must already have at least one of the mob's soul inside for you to be able to right click a spawner. Server ads go here and modpack bugs go here. JavaScript is disabled. Well, it works almost like that. Rather, the total number of souls from both shards are added together, then a bonus is added on top of THAT, so odds are what you'll actually end up with is a tier 5 enderman shard. The resulting type is whatever you put in the left slot, and you get to preview the result before you collect it from the anvil. Though it beats me what you'd do with one of those. Due to their ability to teleport, you really want to isolate such a spawner as much as possible - which is easiest to do in the End, where the enderman spawn rates are through the roof anyway move away from the main island a bit and it becomes very easy to control their spawning regardless as to whether you're using soul shards at all.

I am just fooling around and the end man happened to be the first mob I encountered lol. Though I was on this vanilla server once that had an ender farm where they weren't teleporting around so how is that possible being a vanilla server and all.

If you make a cage out of a tier five and destroy it, what do you get back? Well, if you just spawn the endermen at a sufficient height within an enclosed tower, they won't teleport anywhere and will simply fall to their deaths preferably on a floor of transposers or something similar.

I use a setup like this all the time and have yet to have a rogue enderman. Also, getting a tier 5 enderman shard legitimately is really quite easy if you just go to the End. There's no big need to use the anvil exploit IMO If you have access to the end lol. So what do you get if you destroy a spawner made by a soul shard? In my experience you get both the cage and the shard back, though the tool used might affect this I use a mining drill at present.

Though I gather there's an issue where destroying a cage with a wither skeleton shard in it nets you back a regular skeleton one. Endermen can only teleport a certain distance, and can't teleport onto blocks that're covered in water. To efficiently gain souls, you should look into getting the Vile Sword, which adds another soul per kill, or the Soul Stealer enchantment, which adds an additional soul per kill per level.

Once you begin progressing through the tiers, you should craft a Soul Cage. A Soul Cage will let you insert your Soul Shard and will begin spawning the bound entity indefinitely.
