Soul Posted December 11, Smergler Muntz There is a difference between activation and resolution. If you activated card that wants you to do X, but you cannot do that during resolution for whatever eason , your opponent may check if you really are unable to resolve that card.

But you can never check if the activation is legal. You should always assume your opponent is not cheating and unless you have a reasonable suspicion that your opponent is cheating, there is no reason to call judge.

There will always be a certain ammount of trust you have to put in your opponent. You must understand that the line must have been drawn somewhere. That it was drawn between activation and resolution is just reasonable, seeing all the examples Atem provided that would come up if it was drawn elsewhere.

Your opponent can activate Farmgirl's effect under gozen as long as he has light monster in hand. If he didn't have light monster, he would not be able to activate the effect. During resolution he can choose to summon dark monster if there is not another light on board.

Seeing that you have no way to know if he really had that light monster in hand, you will just have to trust him. The only reason to call a judge is, when you have a reasonable suspicion that he didn't have that monster. Blacklisted Posted December 12, Every complaint you make about this specific issue is equally attributable to the general right to Set, yet I don't see any of you being coldly logical about that.

We as judges do not have time to entertain illogical whims about when it is and isn't appropriate to trust someone, especially when the "we can't trust people" argument refuses to see how deep the mistrust angle can go when fully applied.

This is why I say "learn to trust or try a different game" - because if you want, I can explain how even the mere Normal Set, a fundamental thing in all of YGO, a thing at core to nearly every monster in the cardpool - causes problems that are at their heart identical to this Farmgirl issue.

There is simply ZERO ground for "don't trust people" rhetoric to stand on, unless we openly admit that people have the ability to cheat in a LOT of ways well beyond the scope of this thread - and it's silly to take this "konami's doing it wrong" stance regarding Farmgirl-Rivalry yet ignore all of the other ways one can deceive.

Like, are you all gonna just tell people to quit IRL ygo and play ygo video games instead? That's the only way you're gonna actually escape the fact that someone might be trying to cheat.
